CHF is an eleven acre working horse farm. We train and ride a variety of horses in different disciplines.
During your visit, ask a CHF staff member for a tour of the barn and/or visit with any of the Cottage Hill Farm horses. DO NOT FEED THE HORSES.
Clients are here during the day for lessons and training. If you are interested in watching, check the daily schedule with Linda. In addition, you can hike the trails at the back of the property, (behind the Inn).
Please fill out and sign the release forms for each individual, before interacting with the horses or entering the barn/pasture areas.
The barn work begins daily, at 7 am and typically finishes around 3 pm. The Inn is attached to the barn, so you will hear the activity begin around 7 am. Nightly barn heck begins around 7:30 pm, and the barn closes by 8:30pm. Barn visits are not permitted after the barn is closed. No Exceptions.
The hot tub is a converted livestock water tank! It is heated with propane. Give us at least three hours notice to start the heater. The water temperature reaches around 85 degrees. This is a plunging tub, (no jets).
The fire pit is a wonderful place to sit in the evening, with a favorite drink, and listen to the sounds of the farm. If you choose to use the fire pit, let us know, so we can ready it for you. Please do not remove the hot coals from the pit.
NO PETS are allowed. We have working horses and dogs of our own on the farm.
Publix grocery and liquor is located off 369 and Bannister Rd.
Wilkes Grocery is a local food store with homemade goodies and meats, across from Publix on Bannister Rd. A liquor store is located in the same building.
Dunkin Donuts and fast food are also located at this shopping center.
Pizzeria Azzurri – Best Pizza, on 369 (Matt Hwy) towards 400.
Starbucks is located on 369 towards 400. An additional store is in Dawsonville near Kroger. (This is near the outlet mall)
Dawsonville (off 400 close to the outlet mall) has a variety of fast food restaurants as well as chain restaurants.
Walmart is at 369 and 400, for any forgotten items and grocery.

When leaving the apartment, only use the lock button on the front door. Do not use the bottom lock as you will lock yourself out of the apartment.
Quiet hours are from 11:00 pm – 6:00 am (you are sharing space with the horses!)
Check in is between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm
Check out is at 11:00 am
At check out please place dirty towels on the shower floor and trash in the kitchen can, set the thermostat at 70 degrees.
We are on a septic system so no feminine products or other debris in the toilet.
